A bridal cake created with the bride's gown in mind.. she wore a muted pewter gown with fabric draping across the bodice and up onto the shoulder with Swarovski crystals featuring on the shoulder and hip. 3 tiers of chocolate fudge cake filled with dark chocolate ganache with a hint of Cointreau. Pink Roses Wedding Cake
This is my first wedding cake! My first big three tier cake covered in pale pink fondant. Roses and blossoms all made with fondant. Top tier is lemon, middle tier is chocolate and the bottom tier is vanilla.
This was very nerve wracking for me as it was my first wedding cake. I had to assemble on site as the reception location was up several flights of stairs so I was not able to transport the cake stacked. And thank goodness I didn't have to transport this cake assembled cake as it was sooo heavy!
I got there about 4 hours before the reception started and thank goodness I started early as I got the assembly done and just started on the decorating as a huge flurry of people came to decorate the place, set up speakers and balloons and arches in the same area. At times it was hard to stay focused with loud hip hop music blasting from the speakers :) And at times it was hard for me to decorate under the scrutiny of people watching me.
Overall I was really pleased with the way the cake turned out but of course I can see all the flaws and would definitely change things if I had to do it over again. Lots of lessons learned!
